I have seen the process from both sides, I know what the auditor is looking for and understand the fact that you as a farmer feel somebody is coming to 'check up' on you.  This doesn't have to be the case, there are many farms out there who have excellent welfare standards and super farms but paperwork is not their thing and they do not want to learn the latest technology to keep the records up to date and so are penalised for it.
